Happy Birthday Bro!

June is definitely my most expensive month. But in a good way!
There's the fiance's birthday, father's day, and yesterday was my bro's birthday!
He is officially 18 years old, and can watch all the movies he wants to! Super famous joke for anyone turning 18.
When I turned 18, it was my status on Friendster. Fuiyooo Friendster!!! Mesti dah berdebu dah. LOL.'

Last night we had dinner at Secret Recipe. Took a LOT of photos, but most of them are in my camera, so I'm just grabbing whatever I uploaded to FB and Instagram. :p

With le brother. Kami adik-beradik petak-petak.

Wasn't feeling too hungry, so settled for the teeny weeny lasagna instead of my usual prawn macaroni. :p

OOOH PRESSIES. I got him these cool headphones. GAH. LUPE AMBIK GAMBAR. *facepalms*

Happy 18th Birthday Najman!
University life will be starting soon! :)

His Celebration :)

It was a simple celebration between us. I didn't want to wait until the weekend. I am one of those who prefer birthdays be celebrated on the day itself. I mean, there's a reason it is called BIRTH-DAY. Any other day would just be your normal day.

Yes, I am petty like that. =_=

We rushed home from work, showered, and left after Maghrib for The Spring (where else? lol). And to celebrate his birthday, I decided to treat him at Secret Recipe, so that he gets to choose his own birthday cake. :p

His birthday cake:

It's Black Forest Cheese Cake by the way. Still quite new in Kuching's Secret Recipe. :)

His dinner:

Grilled Chicken Rice, I think. Look at him so happily eating the onions. He loves onions. But ohemmgee,  he had onion breath the entire night. LOL.

Couple shot :p :

OHAI. We're engaged. KTHXBAI.

His gift? I didn't give a crap about his "NO GIFTS! SAVE MONEY FOR OUR WEDDING" rule. LOLOLOL. I knew exactly what to get him. He's been eyeing it for months. Every time we go to Parkson he'll  say "Can we go to and see if it's still there?"

I knew it'd be a perfect birthday gift for him. :p

Can you guess what it is? :p

Here's how it actually looks like:

It's Darth Vader's Lightsaber!

He bought a Darth Vader helmet 2 months back, and he's been itching to get the lightsaber but has been holding back because it was a bit pricey. The lightsaber is a proper replica of the movie's lightsaber, so it seemed to be really limited. Heck, there was only one in Parkson!

Now I am also a fan of Star Wars, so I had no problem with him liking these sort of stuff too. I even played with it to test it out. Hahahahaha.

Here are some photos of us playing around with the Darth Vader mask. It even has his asthmatic-voice too! So awesome!

We are such dorks. XD

Lunch with Chu Majorflava

Huhuhuhu. I feel like I haven't update in ages.

Gomenasai. m(_ _)m

Meh aku updatekan. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhh~! *tiup debu tebal dari keyboard*

Yesterday I had lunch with another local blogger, Sis Chu Majorflava, also known as bakal kakak ipar Kak Zie MerahDarahSalji. Hehe.

Dia sangaaaaatttt cinonet ok. Rasa macam giant sebelah dia. Booooooooo!! Petang tu terus semangat pegi aerobik and weightlifting. Hahaha.

Went to Singapore Chicken Rice for lunch sebab nak makan kat tempat aircond. Cuaca panas nak mampos. Agaknya everyone had the same idea sebab penuh giler babengz SCR tu. We were only left with this huge table kat tengah-tengah dunia yang macam untuk 3287270192 orang dudok.

Segan gile dudok meja besar berdua tapi dah takde tempat lain nak dudok, what to doooooooooooo? Wat muka dono je. LALALALALALALALA~

What we had for lunch:

What Chu had for lunch:

And you complain that you are too small. Dia makan sparoh je ok. Like. Apekah. I told her kalau lemak boleh cut and paste I would have donated 20 kilos to her voluntarily.

Weih, kalau wujud teknologi tu in the future aku cop Chu dulu. *colop Chu*

Tujuan berlunch dengan Chu ni is because I am hiring her to design my engagement invitation. Ngaha. Since she is so good at designing, and so nearby, apa salahnya kita hire a pro to do it? Especially with the reasonable price that she is charging. :)

I gave her all my ideas because I already have an idea of what I want so that made things easier for her. =D

Nah last photo of the day sebab kitorang dudok bawah lampu terang giler, maka haruslah camwhore.

Macam Patrick dan Spongebob. *facepalms*

Japan Trip 2011 - Saizeria

This must be my favourite food find on my trip! Saizeria, Italian food at an affordable rate! I loved this! The most important factor of my love for this shop, is the FREE FLOW OF DRINKS YEAY!

I consume a lot of liquid because I get thirsty easily due to the cold weather, you know, because of dehydration. So I am constantly buying something to drink when walking around.

Saizeria has the nicest range of food. The shop always has a lone outside so, prepare to wait a bit. It usually doesn't take long since they do try to make sure you don't have to be waiting for more than 10 minutes for a seat. But you will be cramped between people. Like us. Huhu.

Check out the food!

I had buffalo mozarella cheese pizza and spinach gratin. Both are to die for! YUMMEH MAX.

Japan Trip 2011 - Sweet Paradise

Sweet Paradise is the place to go if you have a sweet tooth! Cakes, chocolates, sweets you name it.  Salmi apparently is a huge fan of sponge cake. How can I not know this OMGIFAILASAFRIEND.

She has been telling me over and over again about this shop with it's all you can eat dessert buffet. It's a bit hefty (around RM50++ if I'm not mistaken) but I tried it out for the experience of it plus the chocolate fountain looked so inviting. Haha.

The shop is really girly, since it is more directed towards female consumers. Everything is either hot pink or colourful. The walls have fancy patterns, the fonts for the shop are all in hot pink and sunny yellow and the rows of cakes are endless. You will be spoilt for choices!!!

I have rarely liked chocolate fountains because all that I've tried before are either too bitter or too sweet and just basically doesn't taste like good chocolate to me. But the one here is absolutely divine! MELTED MILK CHOCOLATE WOOT. I swear, if Salmi could get a bigger bowl than the one provided, she would totally fill up 5 big bowls of it.
I went for the savoury goodies first; they had rice salad, tomato spaghetti and varieties of soup, all which I enjoyed. And then I went on to the main course of cakes. I'm not a fan of dry sponge cakes, I prefer the more moist types like puddings and mousse cakes which they have so many of! The drinks are free flow, so took advantage of that! XD

The last photo of me up there is my "OMG I CANNOT EAT THIS ANYMOARRR~!!!" Haha, there is a limit to my sweet cravings after all.

Diabetics, please stay away from this shop. FAR AWAY. You have been warned! XD

Check out the awesome website for Sweet Paradise HERE!

Japan Trip 2011 - Harajuku (Pt.1)

I didn't take a mighty load of pictures in Harajuku, mostly because I was too busy walking and lurking at the shops. Hehe.

But you know how everyone has this really funky image of how the people in Harajuku dresses? Well, everyone's pretty normal really. Don't expect to bump into Ganguro girls or Agehas a lot. I didn't bump into any at all really. Boo. =( I was really hoping to see girls in frilly maid outfits, but I guess you'd have to go to Akihabara to see that. XP

Oh, but we had a nice snack in the lane of Harajuku! Japanese fancy Crepes!!! Yummeh.

I think Salmi had banana chocolate, a really traditional dessert crepe. I was feeling a bit peckish for something non-sweet and savoury, so the moment I saw "SALMON AND CREAM CHEESE CREPE" on the menu I got excited!

Salmon. AND CHEESE.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME HOW CAN THAT NOT TASTE GOOD????? Nyahahahahahhahahaha~

It was REALLY GOOD. They were really generous with the filling. I got to eat the Salmon and cheese right to the end. OMAIGOD I MISS IT SO MUCH. T___T

Japan Trip 2011 - Kaiten Sushi!

Yes, a must-do in my trip list. EAT AUTHENTIC CHEAP KAITEN SUSHI!

Kaiten Sushi by the way means sushi on a conveyor belt. You know, like the ones at sushi king that goes rund and round and round.

A good thing everything is nearby, so we just basically walked to the place for dinner! I love the cold weather! So refreshing! I was actually sick during the trip but it'll always get better the moment I step out of the house. Haha, I guess I'm not one to be stuck indoors. =p

And yes, the tea again, is free! OH THE FISH IS SO BIG, YUMMY AND FRESH. I swear, after eating at authentic Kaiten Sushis, I'm already spoiled for the local Sushi King kaitens. They're just so different! =(

Plus, so cheap if you are on a budget! 105yen per plate. And due to the amount of the fish meat, you'll be full by your 5th or 6th plate and also from downing all the free green tea! =p

Japan Trip 2011 - Hot Soba Dinner!

Okay. Funny story here.  I had told Salmi I had cravings for authentic hot Japanese Soba and yeayyy!!! There's a soba shop not far from her home! Totally walking distance. But erm, decided to shorten the distance by riding bikes. We borrowed a bike from her friend and I rode Salmi's bike.

The funny stuff starts here. The last time I rode a bike was erm, 10 years ago? So basically, it was like learning to ride all over again. AND HOLY CRAP I WAS SO BAD AT IT. Like seriously, I couldn't ride a bike for more than 2 meters without falling off. Everytime I saw a car I basically swiveled to the side and bang into the wall.

IT WAS THAT BAD. I wish I had someone recording, it's effing hilarious. Hahahahaha!!! We were nonstop laughing all the way. And I guess it took twice as long than walking! LOL!!!

That's me on Salmi's bike with my "WTF" look.

Even the suburban soba shops are so techy and gadget-wise. You have to pay your soba through a machine! Just like buying coke or 100plus, pick which soba you want, insert money, ticket comes out and give it to the cook! Whee!
Drinks are free! Well, the water and green tea is. Beer etc are not free duh. Green tea is free everywhere in Japan really. You'll never be thirsty!

And lo and behold, my yasai tempura soba!!! Yummeh to the max!!!

 ME GUSTA. (Me likey!)

Willy Wonka's Chocolates!!

If it doesn't sound familiar, maybe the following movie poster is?

OH ABANG JOHNNY DEPP <33333
Siyes, abang Johnny bawak watak pape pon tetap hebat, hensem n hosem. Woot Woot!!!

And tadaaaaa!!! MY WONKA CHOCOLATE!!! AND HOLY CRAP, IT WAS EFFING EXPENSIVE!!!
RM22 for a bar of chocolate. The most I've ever spent for chocolates. (T__T) Salmi and I searched all over Tokyo for it, and we end up finding a lot of them already Japan-ized as in, Katakana writing on the cover when I really wanted the authentic Wonka wiggly writing.

And lo and behold, we found it at the airport!!! Right before I was going to check-in. It was a miracle!!! Totally IMPOSSIBURUUU~ *meme joke here*

And holy sheet it was FREAKING TASTYYYYYYYY~!!!! SODAP GILER BABENGZZZ!!!! There's caramel inside, with bits of Cadbury Crunchie. ZOMG I SWEAR AFTER TASTING IT MY EYES WENT FROM (-_-) TO (O_O). LOL. Totally worth every cent of my RM22.
And we also got something for the demanding birthday girl~

A Willy Wonka Chocolate Truck! Complete with 2 Wonka Chocolates nyum!!!! See how happy she is??? Please ignore Razi being all paparazzi freakish in the background. Haha.

Girly Saturday Part 2!

A sequel to the previous entry!

If you are looking for a nice place to break fast, I'd recommend Pot & Grill!!!

It's a really quaint and dainty shop where apparently not many people go to for breaking fast, so you don't have to worry about wrestling anyone for a spot to eat. Haha.

I went there once with my bf and it was nice not to go through the hassle of fighting off other people for a place to sit and elbowing other people at the buffet table. *cough* Hartz Chicken Buffet *cough*

For my second time here, we decided to go for the carnivore grill set. Loads of meat to be grilled, yeah!!! xD

Word of advice. Don't turn it on all the way up to the highest setting. Or else the food will burn easily. We were such n00bs. LOL.

My Weekend with Lynn-chan

It was an eventful weekend with its own ups and downs.

First of all, our flight got delayed by half an hour, making us arrive even later than scheduled. Had to keep calling the hotel to inform them that we were going to be late.

The bus that was going to take us to KL sentral was also slightly late. We took the time to do our Jamak Prayers at the nearby surau.

Upon arrival, bought dinner at KL sentral and apparently EVERYONE just had to buy KFC at the same time. Every FREAKING one. The line was so damn long!!!

And apparently there was a massive traffic jam in Bukit Bintang area that NO taxi wanted to take us to our hotel there. I got desperate because I was so exhausted and I could see how exhausted Lynn was too and practically made the sappiest and exasperated face I could make at the taxi driver and he felt bad for us and took us to our hotel. And yes, the traffic jam was KLASDJLAKJDLAJSLDA. But I paid him 20 bucks for his trouble and kindness. =')

Then it was all smooth-sailing from there, Thank God.

Here's a compilation of (numbered) photos that we took over the weekend:

1. Waiting for our 'delayed' flight. Had Salmi in mind and decided to immortalize her name in our first photo of the trip. =D

2. Lynn upon arrival. Waiting for our dumbass late bus. =_=

3. A deaf-mute girl was collecting donations by selling these phone straps. She sold us 2 for RM10. We thought it was a deal. =p

4. Had my fix of Auntie Anne's. I love Auntie Anne's!!!!

5. Fish Spa!!! Lynn was really ticklish at first but it was all okay after the first 10 minutes. Haha.

6. On our last day we went to Midvalley and I had my fix of Beard Papa's cream puffs. Best cream puffs evar. xD

All in all, an eventful weekend. At least we learn from our mistakes. Ngaha. =p

Sending Off a Fangirl

Last Friday, Melisa was going to KL for the weekend, because zomg, her favourite band Incubus was in town!!!

Remember my previous post on her video of her rendition of 'Promises, Promises' which was supposed to score her backstage passes? Oh well, sadly she didn't get those, but hey, it was totally fun!!! Haha~

So since her flight was at 2.30pm I thought that I'd just stuff as many people as possible in the car so that we could have lunch altogether! Haha. Lunch is always fun with lotsa fwenz! XD

Oh and we were such drama queens! We were totally making a big fuss of hugging Melisa and telling her to be careful and stuff. It was like she was going away for a long time! LOL.

Oh and before we left the airport, we felt the urge to buy ice creamsssssss~ McD is a rare opportunity for us, since there's only 3 branches in Kuching, so we each got ice cream and totally camwhored. Oh, such vanity.

Hmm. Now I'm craving for a Cornetto McFlurry. whut.

A Weekend Down Memory Lane

Last weekend was like a trip down memory lane!

As Lynn had returned home, Jani and I spread the word around and gathered friends who were in town to have a day out filled with food and fun!

We had lunch at Hartz Chicken Buffet Sarawak Plaza, a place so synonym with any friend returns from overseas because we ALWAYS assume they would love to binge out on chicken without worries, haha. And binge we did.

Of course when you are constantly talking and joking, you sort of just stuff things down your throat without realizing it and end up eating like a bunch of stuff. Bad bad bad! *smacks self*

I have bad self-restraint lately. Argh. Thank God fasting month is coming up!

And then we prayed at the Riverside Majestic's surau before heading to the bowling centre which argh like wtf there's a tournament!!! BTW, the renovated bowling alley is SUPER COOL~ Go chekidaut! xD

So we then went to Tun Jugah for a drink, but then stopped at the Rest n Go massage chairs that I omg love so much! LOL.

Then those who could make it went bowling at Crystal Bowl BDC! And wth, there's a tournament too!!! But thankfully it was coming to an end, so we got a lane like 20 minutes later. No worries!

I was actually really eager to practice for the CLS tournament which is btw, tomorrow!

Happy with the outcome of my marks. I'm always happy if it passes a 100. And hopefully, my throws will be consistent!

The weekend was a fulfilling one guys! =D

Joined Day!

Okay, a bit (a lot?) kate in posting this tapi nak letak jugak.

So two weekends back we celebrated Father's day and my brother's birthday altogether at Secret Recipe. A lot of food was eaten, a lot of calories were devoured and raised, and a lot of money was spent.

But a lot of fun went on too! =)

Chocolate Indulgence will always be our (erm, my? XD) favourite Secret Recipe cake evarrrrr~

Darnit. Now I have cravings. *goes gulp down a litre of water*

Marche! Muy Caliente!

Erm, the Marche Restaurant at the Curve is Mexican, right? At least the word Marche sounds Mexican to me.

ANYWAY.

Everytime pegi The Curve, I have been dying to try it out because it looks so pretty and colourful from the outside, what with the green cow statue and the fancy wooden dining tables with pretty red-checkered table cloths, sangat attractive!

As I brought my family to KL two weekends back, my dad was asking where would I'd like to eat since he's buying dinner. Of course I rubbed my hands gleefully together and answered, "erm, MARCHE." NGAHA.

Now Marche has a really weird system when it comes to ordering food. First of all, you are given this pamphlet with boxes on it for all types of courses and beverages. Basically, you have to go around and order your food. I can't believe I didn't take a picture of the pamphlet/form. ARGH FAIL. OTZ

Inside Marche, they have different foodstalls which serve different food; one would sell pasta, another would be salad, crepes, grill, dessert, drinks, etc. So you go to each stall and tell them what you want, hand them your pamphlet and they will stamp your order on the box of their designated foodstall item. Say you order cheese crepe, they stamp it in the appetizer box. HECK I HAD IT AS MY MAIN COURSE AND IT WAS YUMMEH AND FILLING.

Dem. *wipes drool*

I had cheese crepe with sauteed mushroom (the cheese dipping sauce sangat to die for okeyhhh), my dad had a salmon caesar salad (with tons of yummeh salmon!!!), my mum had grilled steak, and my brother had rosti with beef bacon with a side of sour cream (the sour cream siyes sedap gile).

I think I can make rosti at home. I just need to shread potatoes. But where the hell can I find sour cream in Kuching???? Hm. I wonder if Cold Storage has it. *planning mode*

I miss Marche already. I'LL BE BACK MARCHE!!!!! 8DDD
