Thamby and Me (Nyanyi ikot lagu Hanson "Penny and Me")

Did you know that your pet cats will respond to your stress levels?

The other day I was so stressed out due to a personal matter that I cooped up in my room all day long, all night long, accompanied by a computer and my trusty internet connection to keep me from dying of boredom. But still stressful, nonetheless.

So at one point, I took the liberty of actually stepping out of my room to get something to drink. When I returned to my room, I found Thamby sitting on my bed!

Thamby segi empat. XD

Now, I should make it clear that Thamby rarely or maybe even never voluntarily come to my room. Mostly because he's my dad's favourite cat. And dad seems to be his favourite person too. But dad wasn't home because he had a business trip (contributing to my stress level too).

Somehow I found that having him in my room made me very calm and comfortable after petting him. Instantly I found my stress level reducing bit by bit with each stroke.

So I Googled about it and found this:

Pets Can Reduce Stress—Sometimes More Than People:
While we all know the power of talking about your problems with a good friend who’s also a good listener, recent research shows that spending time with a pet may be even better! Recent research shows that, when conducting a task that’s stressful, people actually experienced less stress when their pets were with them than when a supportive friend or even their spouse was present! (This may be partially due to the fact that pets don’t judge us; they just love us.)

I love you Thamby, oh kucingku yang paling hensem. :'D
